這首震撼人心的歌【How Can You Mend A Broken Heart】，原是1971年比吉斯合唱團(Bee Gees)的專輯，由Barry Gibb和Robin Gibb所編寫，是當時全美冠軍曲。

在1972年由美國靈魂樂大師 Al Green重唱，這首歌經由他的詮釋更加讓人感動。1990年這首歌收錄在電視原聲帶新娘百分百(Notting Hill)中，〈此部電影由茱莉亞羅勃茲(Julia Roberts)與休葛蘭(Hugh Grant)主演〉。
2008年電視原聲帶慾望城市(Sex And The City)中也收錄Al Green與Joss Stone一起對唱。

Al Green在70年代因拒絕女友婚約，女友趁Al Green洗澡時以熱水澆淋他的身體，導致全身嚴重燙傷，而該女友隨後舉槍自盡，此事之後Al Green從事牧師傳授福音的工作職務。
